The simple Folk Care + washing instructions
Every fabric has its own care and wash instructions that will help to keep your garment in top condition.
Our advice: spot clean when you can and avoid overwashing, as this can help the natural fibers maintain their strength for years to come and reduce water usage.

cotton waffle, knit, terry cloth, jersey, ribbed, fleece, velvet, quilted, flannel, ECOVERO™
Machine wash cold on delicate cycle. Lay flat to dry and iron on low if desired. Reshape whilst damp to maintain shape and structure.
cotton corduroy, muslin, twill
Machine wash cold on delicate cycle. Tumble dry low and iron on low if desired.
cotton denim
Machine wash cold. Turn inside out before washing and drying. Wash with similar colors.
cotton sherpa
Machine wash cold on delicate cycle. Fibers may transfer when first washed. Wash with similar colors. Squeeze gently. Lay flat to dry and iron on low if desired.
plant dyed cotton
Machine wash cold on delicate cycle. Wash with similar colors. Tumble dry low and iron on low if desired. Reshape whilst damp to maintain shape and structure.
waxed cotton
Spot clean with cold water. Lay flat to dry and iron at 110°C maximum. Do not machine wash, steam, bleach, tumble dry, or dry clean as this could compromise the wax finish. Polish annually with a reproofing spray or natural wax (such as Merchant and Mills Reproofing Spray or Halley Stevenson’s Wax Tin).

Machine wash warm on delicate cycle. Lay flat to dry and iron on low if desired.
swim
Econyl® regenerated nylon
Machine wash cold. Turn inside out before washing and drying. Wash with similar colors.
wool
merino wool
Hand wash only as needed. Always lay flat to dry. Drying may cause shrinkage and faster wear over time.
OEKO-Tex® wool
Dry clean or spot clean. Iron on low if desired. Do not machine wash. Do not tumble dry.
knitted OEKO-Tex® wool
Dry clean or hand wash in warm water. Iron on low if desired. Do not machine wash. Do not tumble dry.
baby alpaca wool
Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Squeeze gently. Lay flat to dry and iron low if desired. Do not machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Store folded.
footwear
leather
Gently spot clean with a damp cloth and warm water. Polish occasionally with a natural wax or leather conditioner. Avoid exposure to alcohol-based products or high heat sources.
suede
Gently dry brush to remove dust or dirt. Avoid contact with water or other liquids.
rope
Gently spot clean with a damp cloth and warm water.
wool
Gently dry brush to remove dust or dirt. Spot clean with a damp cloth and warm water.
accessories + toys
Knitters (soft animal toys)
Hand wash with warm water or machine wash on the wool cycle. Gently squeeze out excess water and let air dry. Do not tumble dry nor iron.
The Natural Necklace
Gently clean bone beads with warm water and gentle soap. Polish as desired with a dry, soft cloth. Use a small amount of tea-tree or jojoba oil to ensure a long life.
Clean semi-precious stones with warm water and gentle soap. Use a jewelry cleaning brush to gently remove any build-up around the stone. Take care not to loosen or disturb the jewelry setting. Polish as desired with a dry, soft cloth.
The Play Silk
Hand wash with warm water and gentle soap. Hang or lay flat to dry. Iron if desired on medium. Do not steam or use vapor. Do not dry in direct sunlight.
The Sheepskin Rug
Air out regularly, and brush or shake out loose debris. For minor blemishes, spot clean with a damp towel and mild detergent. For a more thorough cleaning, take to a dry cleaner that specializes in leather. Do not wash or tumble dry.
